Following the disappearance of nine South Korean nationals due to floods in Nepal, the government dispatched an 11-member joint government rapid response team this morning (Aug. 27).

The government plans to send the response team, consisting of four officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, five from the fire service, and two from the police, to the site to support the search and rescue of South Korean nationals.

Lim Sang-woo, head of the joint government rapid response team, stated, "We will do our utmost to ensure swift and safe search and rescue operations for our citizens on the ground in Nepal."
