Circumstances have emerged indicating that a Chinese man in his 30s, identified by his surname Jeong, who was arrested on charges including murder for killing a female Chinese exchange student in her 20s who attended a graduate school in Gyeongsan, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and brutally dismembering her body, dumped the victim's remains across a wide area.

According to the Gyeongsan Police Station in Gyeongsangbuk-do today (the 27th), the suspect Jeong reportedly stated during police questioning that after murdering the Chinese exchange student, surnamed A, and dismembering her body, he abandoned the remains not only in Gyeongsan but also in areas including Gyeonggi Province.

In response, the police have dispatched personnel to the locations pointed out by Jeong to conduct on-site investigations.

Previously, citing concerns over the destruction of evidence and flight, the police applied for an arrest warrant for Jeong the previous day, and the pre-trial detention hearing (warrant substantive examination) is scheduled to be held at the Daegu District Court this morning.

The police are also considering conducting a psychopathy checklist assessment on Jeong, taking into account the brutality of the crime.
