It was confirmed today (the 27th) that the Superintendent of Cadets at the Korea Military Academy (KMA), a general-grade officer responsible for cadet discipline, has been relieved of his duties amid allegations of workplace harassment and abuse of power.

An Army official stated, "We are currently conducting an inspection into inappropriate remarks and personal errands ordered by the KMA Cadet Commander," adding, "As a measure to ensure a thorough investigation based on the facts confirmed during the process, he was relieved of his duties effective the 20th."

The KMA Cadet Commander holds the rank of brigadier general and serves as the commanding officer overseeing the Cadet Corps, which is responsible for training cadets.

The position has traditionally been held by KMA graduates, and Brigadier General Park, who has now been suspended from his duties, is also a KMA alumnus.

Brigadier General Park is reportedly facing allegations of engaging in so-called "gapjil," or abuse of power, by making inappropriate remarks and issuing personal errands to discipline officers, who are typically field and company-grade officers.
