It has been revealed that flight information maps provided on in-flight seat screens by foreign airlines singularly label the "East Sea" as the "Sea of Japan."
Professor Seo Kyoung-duk of Sungshin Women's University stated in a social media post today (the 27th) that he confirmed such labeling in 14 foreign airlines, including Air Canada, Air China, China Eastern Airlines, Singapore Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Thai Airways, and Garuda Indonesia.
Professor Seo noted that airline passengers directly photographed and reported the in-flight screen maps, emphasizing, "It is very important to properly inform numerous foreign passengers of the East Sea designation."
He added that he would demand corrections from these airlines that singularly labeled it as the Sea of Japan and would continue to promote the name East Sea worldwide.
