A 20-something Chinese female international student, who had visited South Korea to attend her graduation ceremony, was found dead five days after she was reported missing. The police have arrested a Chinese man, a part-time lecturer at the university she attended, as the primary suspect.

TBC reporter Park Dong-joo has the details.

This is a studio apartment area in Hayang-eup, Gyeongsan, Gyeongsangbuk-do, on the night of the 20th.

Looking awkward at a glance, this person is none other than Jeong, a Chinese national arrested on charges of murdering the 20-something Chinese female international student.

Disguised in women's clothing, Jeong headed toward Dongdaegu Station while carrying the victim's mobile phone.

After changing back into his own clothes in a restroom, he immediately turned off the mobile phone.

The police believe Jeong took these actions in an attempt to commit a perfect crime.

[Police Official: He dressed in women's clothes like the victim, carried the victim's carrier, and held the victim's phone. When we asked the taxi driver, they said it was a woman, so we thought that person was the victim.]

It has also newly come to light that Jeong was a part-time lecturer at the university the victim attended.

This is the classroom where the suspect taught classes as a part-time lecturer during the last semester.

It has been confirmed that the deceased graduate student also took the suspect's classes here.

[University Graduate School Official: (Since there are many Chinese students) I understand he was hired as someone with a relevant major due to language issues, and he had another primary job.]

No specific motive for the crime has been revealed yet.

The police have confirmed circumstances indicating that Jeong mutilated and abandoned parts of the victim's body, and are conducting search operations focusing on nearby garbage incineration plants.
