It has been confirmed that a passenger who fell out of a "Disco Pang Pang" ride in Wolmido, Incheon, suffered an accident while trying to put back on a shoe that had slipped off.
Incheon Jemulpo Police Station announced today (the 26th) that it has launched a preliminary investigation into the Wolmido Disco Pang Pang accident, involving suspicions of professional negligence resulting in injury.
The accident occurred at around 9:23 PM on the 23rd at an amusement park in Bukseong-dong, Jemulpo-gu, Incheon, when a person in their 30s, identified as A, was thrown out of the Disco Pang Pang ride.
Victim A complained of pain in the head and neck, and was transported to a hospital by 119 emergency services for treatment. Their life is not in danger.
A stated to the police, "One of my shoes slipped off, so I let go of one arm to put it back on, and my body momentarily fell backward."
Police plan to verify the exact circumstances of the accident with A, and then investigate the DJ who operated the ride and the facility managers for potential professional negligence.
A police official said, "Due to the nature of the amusement ride, it appears that A was thrown over the railing by centrifugal force and recoil," adding, "We will secure footage recording the operation at the time."
