Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Kim Yoon-duk and Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon held their second meeting today (the 26th), following their gathering last week. The government and the Seoul Metropolitan Government once again failed to narrow their differences regarding plans to supply housing within Yongsan Park.

Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Kim Yoon-duk and Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon met for about an hour starting at 10 a.m. today.

This marks their second meeting following last week to coordinate differences regarding candidate sites for housing supply within Seoul.

The biggest point of contention was housing supply in Yongsan Park, and it was reported that the two sides once again failed to bridge their gaps.

In a post-meeting briefing, Mayor Oh Se-hoon stated, "I made it clear that the main site of Yongsan Park must be protected under any circumstances," reiterating his disagreement with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's development plan for Yongsan Park.

However, Mayor Oh stated that aside from developing the main park site, he would review other proposals from the Ministry with maximum flexibility.

Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Kim Yoon-duk also noted that an agreement with the Seoul Metropolitan Government has not been reached regarding Yongsan Park.

Mayor Oh announced that instead of Yongsan Park, he officially proposed to the Ministry the use of the Tancheon Water Reclamation Center site in Gangnam-gu, adding that youth housing complexes and other facilities could be supplied there.

In addition, Mayor Oh requested a 1.2-fold relaxation of redevelopment floor area ratios, and stated that the Ministry agreed to review the matter proactively.

Minister Kim Yoon-duk and Mayor Oh plan to hold a third meeting next week to narrow their differences and strive to reach an agreement.

As agreements regarding Yongsan Park and other sites have not been reached, the Ministry's upcoming announcement of new housing sites totaling 73,000 households plus alpha is expected to exclude the Yongsan area and greenbelts within Seoul.
