Seoul's Apparent Temperature Hits 34°C; Rain Forecast for Northern Gyeonggi and Gangwon

It remains hot and humid across the country today (August 26).

Seoul's apparent temperature is expected to reach up to 34°C (93°F),

while Jeonju, currently under a heat wave warning, will see its apparent temperature climb to 36°C (97°F).

Rain is expected in the northern parts of Gyeonggi and Gangwon provinces today.

The projected precipitation ranges from 5mm to as much as 30mm, and the rain will mostly stop by tonight.

Please note that sudden, heavy shower clouds may develop mainly around the southern inland areas.

Meanwhile, Typhoon Soudelor is heading toward China and will not directly affect South Korea, but high waves are expected in the coastal and offshore waters.

Vessels navigating or operating in these waters need to exercise special caution.

Tomorrow, a large amount of moisture flowing in from the south will bring rain to the southern regions, with heavy downpours forecasted, so thorough preparations should be made to prevent any rain damage.

Rain is forecasted nationwide for Saturday and Sunday.
