A woman in her 40s has been seriously injured after being attacked with a weapon by her son in Gyeonggi Province's Gwangju, and has been transported to a hospital.

At around 10:40 a.m. today (the 26th), a report was received stating that a woman in her 40s, identified as A, had been stabbed with a weapon at an apartment in Yangbeol-dong, Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province.

B, a man in his 20s and the son of woman A, was found dead near the scene. Police believe that B wielded the weapon against A before taking his own life.

Woman A is currently receiving treatment at a hospital and is reportedly in critical condition.

Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident by questioning witnesses and others.
