A man in his 20s, identified as A, attacked his mother in her 40s, identified as B, with a weapon inside a vehicle at a ground-level parking lot of an apartment complex in Munhyeong-dong, Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, at 10:46 a.m. today (26th).

It was confirmed that A subsequently went up to a nearby apartment building and jumped, resulting in his death.

B sustained severe injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

It was reported that A had a history of receiving treatment for a mental illness.

Police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
