A fire broke out in a K7 sedan driven by a person in their 50s near the Giheung IC on the Seoul-bound Gyeongbu Expressway in Giheung-gu, Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, at around 7:50 a.m. today (the 26th), and was completely extinguished 22 minutes later.

It was reported that no casualties occurred as the driver, identified as Mr. A, and one passenger successfully evacuated.

Two out of the five lanes were temporarily closed to handle the accident, causing traffic congestion during the morning commute.

Police and fire authorities believe the fire started in the engine compartment and are investigating the exact cause.
