Dragon Pony member Pyeon Sung-hyun is ending his activities with the team and concluding his exclusive contract with his agency, Antenna.

Antenna posted an official statement on its official social media (SNS) on the 25th, stating, "We have had extensive discussions with member Pyeon Sung-hyun regarding his future activities, and following thorough dialogue, we have mutually agreed to conclude his exclusive contract." The agency added, "Accordingly, Pyeon Sung-hyun will conclude his activities as a member of Dragon Pony effective August 25, 2026."

It continued, "The remaining three members of Dragon Pony will continue their activities," and asked for "warm support for the journeys that Dragon Pony and Pyeon Sung-hyun will embark on from their respective positions." Antenna bowed its head, saying, "We sincerely apologize for causing concern to fans with this sudden news. We will do our utmost to ensure Dragon Pony can greet fans with even better music."

The news of Pyeon Sung-hyun's departure comes about a month after he temporarily suspended his activities due to health reasons.

Previously, Antenna announced on the 22nd of last month that Pyeon Sung-hyun would temporarily halt activities for health reasons, and that Dragon Pony would operate as a three-member band for the time being. At the time, the agency explained that future activity details would be announced separately, but after about a month of hiatus, the temporary suspension instead culminated in a permanent departure from the group and the termination of his exclusive contract.

This sudden news has triggered mixed reactions of bewilderment and disappointment among fans. Voices are raising questions about the sudden decision-making process, with comments such as, "They said he was taking a break due to health issues, but to leave after just a month is hard to understand," and "It feels like it was decided too abruptly without sufficient explanation."

Dragon Pony is a four-member band consisting of Ahn Tae-gyu, Pyeon Sung-hyun, Kwon Se-hyuk, and Ko Gang-hun, who officially debuted in September 2024 with the release of their first mini-album, "POP UP." Operating as a self-producing band with all members participating in lyrics, composition, and arrangement, they have released tracks such as "Not Out," "Earth Boy," "If I Had My Way!", and "Morse Code." Pyeon Sung-hyun served as the bassist for the group while also contributing to the production of major tracks.

Following Pyeon Sung-hyun's departure, Dragon Pony has been reorganized into a three-member act featuring Ahn Tae-gyu, Kwon Se-hyuk, and Ko Gang-hun, about 1 year and 11 months after their debut.
