The Canadian government announced on the 25th, local time, that it will impose retaliatory tariffs on approximately 20 billion dollars worth of U.S. products.
The retaliatory tariffs will take effect on the 8th of next month on about 700 items, with tariff rates ranging variably from 15%, 25%, to 50% depending on the item.
In addition, the Canadian government stated that it is introducing a 7.5 billion Canadian dollar support package to assist businesses and workers affected by the new U.S. tariffs.
