U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he has just received a report from the U.S. Navy stating that all naval mines located in the international waters of the Strait of Hormuz have been removed and detonated.

President Trump posted the statement on his social media platform, Truth Social, on the 25th local time, stating, "We have informed Iran that any vessel attempting to lay new mines will be immediately and systematically destroyed."

President Trump emphasized a "total and effective zero-tolerance policy against mine-laying."

This is interpreted in the context of asserting that the U.S. military has secured control over the Strait of Hormuz and that free and safe navigation through the strait is possible.

President Trump also emphasized, "We are monitoring every corner of the strait through the Space Force," adding, "The same goes for the Pickaxe Mountain and other previously destroyed nuclear facilities."

Pickaxe Mountain is a location suspected by the U.S. and Israel to be Iran's new underground nuclear facility.

The reference to "other previously destroyed nuclear facilities" is believed to point to the nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan that were airstruck by the U.S. military in June of last year.
