▲ Doosan starting pitcher Choi Min-seok pitches strongly
The Doosan Bears battery combined to deliver a valuable victory in professional baseball.
Doosan defeated league-leading KT Wiz 3-1 in an away game of the 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO League held at Suwon KT Wiz Park on the 25th.
Starting pitcher Choi Min-seok allowed one run on six hits over six innings, picking up his 12th win (3 losses) of the season and moving to the sole lead in wins.
Yang Eui-ji, the veteran catcher who guided Choi's stellar pitching, hit a go-ahead solo home run to left field in a 1-1 tie during the sixth inning, reaching the 300-home-run milestone as the third catcher and 17th player in KBO history.
After KT put runners on base every inning through the fourth but only managed a single run from Kim Hyun-soo's RBI single in the third, Doosan tied the game 1-1 in the fifth with Jeong Su-bin's lightning-fast solo homer to right field.
Having turned the game around with Yang's home run, Doosan extended its lead to 3-1 in the seventh with one out and runners on first and third, when Jeong Su-bin cleverly sprinted home on Ahn Jae-seok's groundout to first base.
Following Choi, Kim Taek-yeon, Takada Takuto, and Lee Young-ha each pitched a scoreless inning.
