Volleyball legend Kim Yeon-koung has been appointed as the chair of the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Athletes' Commission and as an AVC ambassador.

The AVC announced today (the 25th) that "Kim Yeon-koung, an icon of Asian volleyball, will serve a two-year term starting September 1 to amplify the voices of Asian volleyball players and work toward the development of volleyball across the continent."

The federation added, "Kim has solidified her status as a representative volleyball player of Asia through her stellar performances for the South Korean women's national team and major professional leagues worldwide. Having built a career as one of the greatest players, Kim will now take on a new role within the AVC."
