The won-dollar exchange rate has risen slightly to the high 1,380 won range.
Today (the 25th), in the Seoul foreign exchange market, the won-to-US dollar exchange rate stood at 1,386.1 won as of 3:30 PM, up 3.7 won from the same time the previous day.
The exchange rate started at 1,381.90 won earlier in the day, hit a low of 1,378.90 won, but showed an upward trend entering the afternoon.
Nego (dollar selling) volumes from domestic semiconductor exporters are reportedly continuing to emerge.
The base rate decision by the Bank of Korea's Monetary Policy Board scheduled for the 27th is also a major point of interest.
The US dollar continues its weak trend amid highlighted fiscal anxiety fueled by rising US Treasury yields and news of the US government's Treasury buyback.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback's value against major currencies of six countries, rose 0.066 to 99.058, remaining below the 100 mark.
The won-yen cross rate fell 1.14 won to 869.82 won per 100 yen.
The yen-dollar exchange rate rose 0.276 to 159.330.
Foreign investors net sold approximately 3.8 trillion won worth of shares in the main bourse (KOSPI) today.
