President Lee Jae-myung remarked today (the 25th) regarding digital sex crimes such as pornographic websites distributing sexual exploitation materials, saying, "Judicial procedures are very limited," and adding, "We must devise ways to strike them at the root."

During a Cabinet meeting held at the Blue House that day, President Lee stated, "Whenever websites supplying sexual exploitation materials are blocked, they just create new ones and upload them," adding, "These are criminal acts carried out by bypassing communication channels."

In response, Minister of Gender Equality and Family Won Min-kyung explained, "There were discussions on how it would be good to catch individuals involved in these crimes through internal whistleblowers," while outlining measures such as confiscating profits and strengthening sentencing standards.

President Lee then asked, "Isn't the problem that they are all overseas and anonymized, making them impossible to catch?" to which Minister Won mentioned a plan to award a portion of the recovered proceeds from illegal sites as rewards to internal whistleblowers.

President Lee instructed, "If it helps with reporting or punishment, we need to consider drastically increasing the forfeiture of criminal proceeds," and added, "Other ministries should review this as well."
