The Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment held a meeting with global semiconductor giants Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, alongside Google and ASML, titled the "Meeting to Secure Competitiveness in Advanced Industries Including Semiconductors and Artificial Intelligence (AI)," to discuss solutions for renewable energy procurement.

Advanced industries such as semiconductors and AI data centers require massive amounts of stable electricity while simultaneously facing demands to implement "100% Renewable Energy" (RE100) and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Consequently, a stable and competitive renewable energy supply foundation is drawing attention as a core condition for investment in advanced industries and the reinforcement of industrial competitiveness.

During the meeting, the Ministry shared its policy directions centered on the "1st Basic Plan for Renewable Energy" to achieve the target of deploying 100 GW of renewable energy by 2030.
