Amid widespread public attention surrounding a recent missing person case involving a woman in Jeju, the fallout has undeservedly hit a promotional ambassador and YouTube creator for Jeju Special Self-Governing Province.

The YouTuber "Mworanghaman" creates content primarily focused on Jeju's culture and dialect, steadily building a subscriber base of 400,000 through daily vlogs and skit-style shorts.

He has promoted Jeju through a wide range of content—from introducing lesser-known Jeju regions, cultures, and dialects to serious reflections like attending the April 3rd Massacre memorial ceremony. One subscriber left a comment on his video saying, "Through wit and humor, you capture Jeju's natural weather, historical pain, and unique stories... Jeju is currently stagnant in many ways, but watching Mworanghaman makes me dream of strength and hope again."

However, following the recent disappearance of a woman in her 30s surnamed Jang in Jeju, Mworanghaman became the target of attacks by some netizens. As the entire island drew intense scrutiny due to the incident, comments mocking his safety flooded his Jeju-introducing content, starting with jeers like "Jeju Island is Killer Island," followed by remarks such as "You must be prepared to go missing if you want to go to Jeju," "Did this guy also get processed as a missing person case closed?", and "If you're alive, please upload a video.. RIP."

In particular, even on a vlog he posted introducing Oedo-dong in Jeju City, over-the-line mockery continued, with comments like "Watch out so you don't meet a suspicious death," "Jeju Island has become like Cambodia," and "Doing a body-search content in Jeju Island would do well." At the same time, some voices are calling for an end to reckless malicious comments, saying, "This incident has nothing to do with him, why mock him to this extent?" and "It's not Mworanghaman's fault, we support you."
