A worker in his 50s died yesterday afternoon (August 24) in a fall accident at a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in Danwon-gu, Ansan, Gyeonggi Province.
Worker A, who belonged to an external contractor, fell from a height of about 6 meters while dismantling pipes.
Worker A was transported to the hospital in a state of cardiac arrest, but reportedly passed away during treatment.
It was determined that the plant's operations had been suspended at the time of the accident to carry out dismantling work.
Police have requested an autopsy on the body from the National Forensic Service and are investigating the circumstances of the accident with plant officials.
