Former President Yoon Suk-yeol testified in court regarding a text message sent by Keonhee to former Minister of Justice Park Sung-jae concerning the Dior bag suspicion, stating, "I am seeing it for the first time," and "It does not seem to be the level of writing that my wife could produce."

Regarding the December 3 emergency martial law, he repeatedly claimed the legitimacy of its declaration, stating, "I thought it was a national emergency and made a naive judgment according to the law."

Former President Yoon appeared as a witness on the 24th at the Seoul High Court for the continued appellate trial of former Minister Park, which was presided over by Presiding Judge Yoon Sung-sik of Criminal Division 1.

Former Minister Park was sentenced to 25 years in prison in the first trial after being found guilty of charges including complicity in important missions of insurrection by participating in the December 3 emergency martial law.

However, the charge of receiving a request to hush up an investigation from Keonhee (violation of the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act) was dismissed.

During the witness examination on this day, the independent counsel team led by Special Prosecutor Eunseok mentioned the contents of a Telegram message sent by Keonhee to former Minister Park in May 2024.

When the special counsel team explained that "it is related to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office forming a special investigation team regarding the suspicion of Keonhee receiving a Dior bag," former President Yoon replied, "I am seeing it for the first time."

He then stated, "Looking at the contents of the text, it does not seem to be the level of writing that my wife could write. A housewife talking about forming a special investigation team and all that," adding, "Isn't it something someone else had the Minister look at?"

In response to a question from former Minister Park's attorney asking for his thoughts on his wife Keonhee and numerous public officials who worked under the Yoon Suk-yeol administration standing trial while in custody, former President Yoon said it "breaks my heart."

He emphasized, "The public officials of our government and my wife are my family," and "Seeing the public officials of our government inside the detention center breaks my heart."

However, he reiterated that there was no problem with his decision at the time, stating, "Because I thought it was a national emergency comparable to war or civil war, I naively judged the emergency martial law according to the law."
