Kim Sei-young has finished in third place at the LPGA Tour CPKC Women's Open.

Playing the final fourth round of the tournament at the Royal Mayfair Golf Club in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Kim carded one eagle, three birdies, and two bogeys for a 3-under-par.

With a final score of 13-under-par 267, Kim wrapped up the tournament in third place.

She finished 10 shots behind the champion, Miyu Yamashita.

Kim, who has 13 career wins on the LPGA Tour, recorded her sixth top-10 finish of this season without a win.

Her best finish of the season is a tie for second at the JM Eagle LA Championship in April.

Starting the final day tied for sixth and nine strokes behind leader Yamashita, Kim stepped out in her trademark "red pants" and built early momentum to launch a chase.

After picking up her first birdie on the 3rd hole (par 4), she landed a thrilling chip-in eagle on the 5th hole (par 5) and gained momentum with back-to-back birdies on the 7th (par 3) and 8th holes (par 4).

However, as Yamashita maintained her solo lead, narrowing the gap proved difficult.

Playing steadily for pars in the chasing pack through the middle stretch, Kim unfortunately slipped to third after back-to-back bogeys late in the round on the 16th (par 4) and 17th (par 3) holes.

Yamashita secured the victory by leaving runner-up Yuri Yoshida trailing by a massive nine strokes, setting a record for the largest margin of victory at this tournament.

The winner's prize is $412,500.

Yamashita's tournament total of 257 strokes ties the LPGA Tour 72-hole record for the lowest score, which was previously set by Kim Sei-young at the Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic in July 2018.

At the time, however, Kim achieved her 257 strokes on a par-72 course.

Yamashita, who debuted on the LPGA Tour last year and won the major AIG Women's Open before also capturing the Maybank Championship in November to claim the Rookie of the Year award, added another trophy about two months after her Meijer LPGA Classic win in June, bringing her career total to four victories.

Yamashita becomes the sixth multiple winner on the LPGA Tour this season, following Nelly Korda (USA) with four wins, Atthaya Thitikul (Thailand) with three, and Yoo Hae-ran, Kim Hyo-joo, and Hannah Green (Australia) with two wins each.

Yamashita grabbed the lead by one stroke after firing an 8-under-par in the first round of the tournament, maintained a five-shot lead after the second round, and stretched her solo lead to six strokes after the third round, before shaving off four more shots today to complete a dominant wire-to-wire victory.

Choi Hye-jin, who celebrated her 27th birthday on this day, shaved off three strokes to finish tied for 17th alongside rookie Lee Dong-eun.

World No. 1 Korda, Lee So-mi, and Anna Lin tied for 23rd, Kim Hyo-joo and Yang Hee-young tied for 31st, and Joo Su-bin and Lydia Ko tied for 37th.
