A person reported missing, identified as A, was found dead by searching police officers near a valley in Aewol-eup, Jeju City, at around 9:30 a.m. today (August 24).

Family members of A recently filed a missing person report with the police, and officers had been conducting searches since receiving the case.

Police plan to investigate the exact circumstances and cause of death.

Earlier this morning, a body presumed to be Chang Mi-ran, who went missing last May, was found in a forest near Hanlim-eup, Jeju City. Police are currently conducting forensic identification and determining the cause of death.
