Prime Minister Han Sung-sook expressed deep sorrow regarding the case of Jang Mi-ran (37), who went missing, stating, "I find this truly heartbreaking."

Prime Minister Han made the remarks this morning during a plenary policy session of the National Assembly's Special Committee on Budget and Accounts, after Democratic Party of Korea lawmaker Moon Dae-lim brought up news reports about the discovery of a body presumed to be Jang and proposed related measures.

In response to the measures suggested by Lawmaker Moon—such as making it mandatory for police to double-check missing person cases and requiring notification to higher authorities when modifying or deleting profiling records—Han explained, "We are internally reviewing the points you raised, and we will actively and swiftly push forward with them."

The Jeju Provincial Police Agency announced that at around 10:46 a.m. today, they discovered a body presumed to be Jang, who had been missing for over three months, near Hanrim-eup, Jeju City.
