Actor Shim Eun-kyung is set to make a strong impression on the silver screen this second half of the year through two highly anticipated films.

The first project to greet audiences is "The Assassin(s)" (directed by Huh Jin-ho), a highly anticipated release for the Chuseok holiday box office. "The Assassin(s)" follows the pursuit of suspicions and hidden forces behind the assassination of the First Lady that shocked South Korea on August 15, 1974. Notably, the film has captured global attention by being officially invited to the Gala Presentation section of the 51st Toronto International Film Festival.

Shim Eun-kyung plays Lee Kang-ja, a bright and bold supporter who assists Young-il (Lee Minho) with his reporting in Japan. In the center of the tense events, she is expected to bring vibrancy to her character with her unique personality and showcase a strong presence among an impressive cast.

Following this, during the 31st Busan International Film Festival (held from October 6 to 15), she will meet audiences in director Kim Jong-kwan's new film "The Table: Day and Night", which has been selected as the opening film.

"The Table: Day and Night" is a film featuring delightful, understated, and lovely conversations among four pairs of men and women who pass through a single cafe during the seasonal shift from summer to autumn.

In this project, Shim Eun-kyung plays web novel writer Hye-jin. Working alongside Lee Hee-jun, who plays film director Dong-nam, she leads a sparkling first meeting and delightful conversations amidst the subtle changes of the seasons. Under the direction of Kim Jong-kwan, who captures the delicate textures of everyday emotions, Shim Eun-kyung's signature subtle and profound acting is expected to deliver warm resonance and lingering emotions to audiences.

Shim Eun-kyung reached her peak by driving domestic box office hits such as the films "Sunny" and "Miss Granny", and subsequently became active in the Japanese film industry. She won the Best Actress award at the Japanese Academy Film Prize for "The Journalist" and further claimed the Kinema Junpo Best Actress award for "Two Seasons, Two Strangers".

Having focused on her activities in Japan, Shim Eun-kyung has been pouring her heart into domestic activities starting this year. In particular, with the release of two films in the second half of the year alone, she is set to communicate closely with domestic fans once again.
