Actor Cha Tae-hyun, the official "good luck charm" of SBS's "Teummananeun," is making his return.
Ahead of its broadcast on August 25, the production team of SBS's "Teummananeun," which has been sweeping the top spots in ratings for variety shows and dramas in its time slot as well as high OTT buzz rankings, announced the appearance of guest Cha Tae-hyun and actor Jin Ki-joo.
On this day's broadcast, Cha Tae-hyun appeared alongside Jin Ki-joo, the first actor of his agency who recently rose to mainstream popularity through the drama "Chamgyoyuk." Emerging amid an enthusiastic welcome from Yoo Jae-suk and Yoo Yeon-seok, Cha Tae-hyun made the set burst into laughter with his signature witty banter, saying, "PD Choi Bo-pil told me I'm like a lucky charm to the program. I am practically the 'pig's head' of 'Teummananeun.'" Indeed, every time he has appeared in past seasons, Cha Tae-hyun has successfully cleared the third stage of games, driving the show to its highest personal ratings.
Cha Tae-hyun also shared an unexpected behind-the-scenes story of how Jin Ki-joo came to join his agency. He revealed a connection, explaining that the head of Jin Ki-joo's former agency used to be the past manager of actor Zo In-sung, and noted that his own exceptional luck even influenced the agency recruitment process, eliciting admiration from Yoo Jae-suk and Yoo Yeon-seok.
It is said that even Yoo Jae-suk, who usually blurts out "Oh, that Cha Tae-hyun!" in response to Cha Tae-hyun's uninhibited remarks and actions, could not hold back his praise after witnessing his winning streak firsthand, declaring, "As expected, Tae-hyun is the head meat of the opening."
Anticipation is building over whether Yoo Jae-suk, Yoo Yeon-seok, Cha Tae-hyun, and Jin Ki-joo—reunited after four months—will be able to deliver refreshing luck to the "Teum" owners.
"Teummananeun" will air at 9 PM on Tuesday, August 25.
