Singer Lim Young-woong has donated 200 million won to help residents in the Geoje and Tongyeong regions of South Gyeongsang Province who were affected by recent torrential rains.
The Community Chest of Korea (Fruit of Love) announced on the 24th that Lim, along with his agency Fish Music, deposited the donation under the name of his fan club, "Youngwoong Generation."
The funds will be used through the Community Chest of Korea's ongoing "2026 Special Heavy Rain Damage Fundraising Campaign" to provide emergency relief, temporary housing support, and recovery efforts for displaced residents in southern regions such as Geoje and Tongyeong. Both areas have experienced continuous flooding of homes and roads due to recent heavy downpours, leaving residents struggling with daily life.
Lim has consistently made donations during his birthdays, holidays, and times of disaster since 2021. Including this recent contribution, his cumulative donations delivered through the Community Chest of Korea reach 2.5 billion won. When adding the 200 million won he personally delivered to Korea University Medical Center on his birthday this year to cover treatment costs for low-income and vulnerable patients, his total cumulative donations amount to 2.7 billion won.
Voluntary sharing by his fan club is also continuing. Following Lim and Fish Music's 400 million won donation during the massive wildfires in the Yeongnam region last year, Youngwoong Generation also separately donated 600 million won. In Geoje, one of the areas hit hard by the recent heavy rain, "Youngwoong Generation Geoje" delivered donations to a local welfare foundation to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Lim's debut, with fans across the country participating in their own ways.
The 10th anniversary of Lim's debut (August 8) is extending beyond sharing into performances and new releases. Lim will hold his solo concert "IM HERO - THE STADIUM 2" at the main stadium of Goyang Stadium in Gyeonggi Province from September 4 to 6. Following this, he will release his special digital album "IM HERO 10" on September 8.
