This is our second hot topic.

A hiker was injured while descending Mount Seoraksan.

The accident occurred in a restricted zone where even mobile phone signals are cut off.

The Seoraksan National Park Office received a report at around 4:20 PM the day before yesterday that a hiker, surnamed A, had injured their ankle while descending.

The accident took place in a restricted area known as Baegungol.

It is also a place where mobile phone reception is poor.

One of hikers in A's group traveled to a location where mobile communication was available to call 119.

The National Park Special Mountain Rescue Team and the 119 rescue services were dispatched to the scene.

As it was raining a bit on Mount Seoraksan at the time, making helicopter rescue difficult, the rescue team traveled on foot to reach where A was located.

After first aid, A was transferred to a rescue stretcher and safely rescued after 8 hours.

The park office imposed fines on A's group for violating the entry ban.

Restricted areas lack safety facilities and have many communication dead zones, making prompt rescue difficult.

You must never enter them.
