A magnitude 6.0 earthquake has occurred off the southeastern coast of Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan.
The Korea Meteorological Administration announced tonight (the 23rd) at around 10:45 PM, citing foreign observation agencies, that a magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck an area 190 kilometers southeast of Hokkaido, Japan.
The epicenter is located at 41.80 degrees north latitude and 142.90 degrees east longitude, with a depth of 40 kilometers.
Earlier this morning at around 2:00 AM, a magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck south of Ibaraki Prefecture on Honshu, Japan.
Shaking of lower-bound intensity 5, which caused tableware and books to fall from shelves, was observed in the capital region, including Tokyo.
