A fire broke out at Seoul's Yeongcheon Market during the early morning hours, damaging multiple stores.

The fire started at around 3:50 a.m. today (August 23) at Yeongcheon Market in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul.

Fire authorities deployed about 120 personnel and approximately 40 pieces of equipment, extinguishing the blaze about two hours and 40 minutes after receiving the report.

While no injuries were reported, two stores were completely burned and at least eight others suffered partial damage.

Fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire and the scale of the damage.
