Police have requested an arrest warrant for a man in his 50s who staged a suicide threat on the rooftop of an apartment building in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province.

At around 5:00 PM yesterday (August 21), a man in his 50s, identified as Mr. A, staged a suicide threat on the rooftop of a building in Uijeongbu-dong, Uijeongbu.

Earlier that morning, Mr. A had been issued a penalty fine for public urination. He then called 112 41 times, hurling insults and abusive language, and was arrested at the scene for violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, Etc.

Harboring a grudge, Mr. A staged the rooftop suicide threat while heavily intoxicated, holding out on the rooftop for about five hours before coming down on his own following police persuasion.

Police have requested an arrest warrant for Mr. A on charges of obstruction of official duties by fraudulent means.
