Jung Jae-hoon, the prize money leader on the KPGA David Golf Tour (secondary tour), maintained a share of the lead in the second round of the Dongah Memberships Group Open (total purse of 700 million won), the first regular tour event of the second half of the season, although he was unable to finish his round due to darkness.

Playing on the Sol Course (par 72) at SolatCC in Taean, South Chungcheong Province, for the second round on August 21, Jung started from the 10th hole (par 4) and played 8 holes through the 17th hole (par 3), making 2 birdies to reach 12-under par with a partial score of 91 before play was suspended due to darkness.

Jung, who was the sole leader the previous day, finished tied with Kim Seung-min (12-under 132), who started in the morning and completed his second round with a 3-under 69, bringing the two players together atop the leaderboard.

Play at the venue was suspended at 9:20 AM due to rain and a lightning warning. After resuming around 2:00 PM and experiencing further delays, play finally restarted at 4:20 PM, with the final group teeing off as late as 6:26 PM.

Consequently, 72 players who took to the course in the afternoon could not finish their second rounds before sunset, leaving them with the burden of completing the remaining holes on the morning of August 22 before heading into the third round.

Jung started with four consecutive pars from the 10th hole (par 3) before sinking a 4.3-meter birdie putt on the 14th hole (par 4). He also converted a birdie putt of over 4 meters on the 16th hole (par 4) to shave off two strokes and tie with Kim Seung-min for the lead.

However, a buzzer signaling sunset sounded at 7:16 PM, and Jung suspended his play after making par on the 17th hole (par 3).

Kim Seung-min made a strong charge in the second round.

Kim, who was tied for second place the previous day, shot 3-under 69 with five birdies and two bogeys, moving up to a share of the lead at 12-under 132 overall.

Having debuted in 2024 with a career-best finish of tied for third at the 4th Woosung Construction Open in 2022, Kim continues his pursuit of his first career victory.

After completing his round, Kim said, "I think I finished well despite the rough weather. My tee shots have been working well without major mistakes, and I think not missing many of the birdie opportunities that followed after my tee shots led to a good score."

Kim Sung-hyun, Choi Seung-bin, and amateur Yu Min-hyuk tied for third place at 11-under 133 overall.
