A 26-year-old young man who worked as a car salesman in Belgium has belatedly been recognized as having royal blood, acquiring the status of a prince.
Recently, Prince Laurent of Belgium legally recognized Clement Vandenkerckhove, who was born to a former partner before his marriage, as his legal son and heir.
However, he will not be included in the line of succession to the throne and will not receive a royal allowance.
In addition, instead of taking his father's surname "Saxe-Coburg," he will keep his mother's surname "Vandenkerckhove" which he has been using, and will not attend official royal events.
