An accident occurred at 3:52 a.m. today (August 21) where a large piece of construction machinery toppled over at an apartment construction site in Sangdong-dong, Geoje, Gyeongsangnam-do.

There were no casualties as no workers were present at the site at the time.

However, the accident generated a loud impact sound and vibration, causing anxiety among residents in nearby apartments.

The fire authorities received three reports regarding the incident immediately after it happened.

In particular, the accident site is located near an apartment complex that suffered ground erosion and major sinkhole damage due to torrential rains during the Liberation Day holiday, heightening residents' anxiety.

Residents of the apartment reacted with concerns, stating, "It sounded like an explosion," "I was startled when my bed shook," and "Isn't this because the ground was weakened by the heavy rain during Liberation Day?"
