U.S. President Donald Trump expressed strong confidence in his approval ratings on the 20th local time, stating, "If I ran in an election today, I would win by a 25-percentage-point margin."

President Trump made the remarks during an interview on a WABC radio program hosted by his former personal attorney, Michael Cohen.

"We are doing really well in the polls," President Trump said, adding that if he runs, "we will win big."

Describing the current U.S. economy as a "renaissance," President Trump cited economic achievements driven by his tariff policies, such as increased investment in the U.S. by foreign companies.

He also claimed that auto plants that had left overseas are returning to the United States, stating, "We have made a tremendous amount of money with tariffs."

Regarding the war with Iran, he repeatedly emphasized the justification for the conflict, calling it an inevitable choice to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

On the military operation against Iran, President Trump said, "I would have done it 100 times over," adding, "They (Iran) cannot have a nuclear weapon, and they will never have one."

He also claimed that when U.S. forces attacked Iranian nuclear facilities with B-2 bombers, Iran was "exactly two weeks away from having a nuclear weapon."

The interview drew significant attention as it marked the first public conversation in about eight years between two figures who went from being closest aides to bitter enemies.

Cohen served as President Trump's personal attorney and closest "fixer" for 15 years.

Their relationship collapsed after they parted ways following the 2018 hush-money scandal involving President Trump, with Cohen testifying as a key witness in related criminal trials. President Trump has publicly denounced him as a "traitor" and a "liar."

Signs of reconciliation between the two began to emerge after President Trump's reelection, when Cohen claimed prosecutors had pressured him to give testimony unfavorable to President Trump.

The New York Times (NYT) reported that the two met privately last year at a golf course owned by President Trump in New Jersey.

It is also reported that there was implicit approval from the White House during the process of Cohen recently being selected as a host for the conservative-leaning WABC radio.

Indeed, an atmosphere suggesting an effort to clear past grudges was felt during the interview.

Cohen referred to President Trump as "Boss" like he used to in the past, and President Trump praised Cohen's recent retraction of his past prosecutorial testimony, saying prosecutors "used him as a tool" and calling his reversal "truly remarkable."

Prior to the broadcast, Cohen said the two had forgiven each other, stating, "Forgiveness doesn't erase the past, it just decides that yesterday's events will no longer dictate tomorrow."

The content broadcasted on this day was part of a pre-recorded 40-minute phone interview, and the full interview is scheduled to be released on the 23rd.
