Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebel movement, which has recently intensified its offensives against Saudi Arabia, claimed it attacked a Saudi airport and other facilities on the 20th (local time), according to the Houthi-run Saba news agency.

A Houthi military spokesman announced in a statement that the Yemeni armed forces successfully carried out two separate military operations using drones.

He explained that the first attack targeted sensitive military sites belonging to Saudi forces at Najran Airport, while the second strike hit Aramco facilities in Najran.

He added that the attacks were carried out in retaliation for a Saudi drone violating the airspace of Yemen's Saada Governorate.

The Houthi spokesman warned that the Yemeni armed forces will continue to defend Yemen's sovereignty against any intrusion and, God willing, firmly maintain this posture of response.

Last month, the Houthi rebels blamed Saudi Arabia for an airstrike on the airport in the capital Sanaa, which is under Houthi control, and declared an end to the truce as well as a naval blockade.

Since then, the Houthis have targeted Saudi-linked vessels in the Red Sea while continuing their offensive against airports and petroleum facilities within Saudi Arabia.
