Goyang City's Birthday Support Content for Girl Group RESCENE Member May Draws Attention

Support content released by Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province, celebrating the birthday of girl group RESCENE member May, a local native and the city's official public relations ambassador, has been drawing attention among fans and netizens.

According to Goyang City today (the 20th), the city released a video on its official YouTube channel on the 19th in celebration of May's birthday, featuring supportive interviews from junior students at her alma maters, Jangchon Elementary School and Daehwa Middle School, alongside a congratulatory message from Goyang Mayor Lee Kyung-seon.

On the same day, a music fountain show combining RESCENE's representative songs with golden lighting symbolizing May was also showcased at the Singing Fountain of Ilsan Lake Park.

The response from fans was enthusiastic.

The official Goyang City YouTube support video received over 800 comments within just one day of its release.

Related content was also shared across fan communities and social media platforms, including RESCENE's official fandom, "REMINE."

Fans reacted with comments such as, "It is legendary for a local government to celebrate an idol's birthday," "It's so heartwarming to see juniors from her alma mater celebrating her directly," "Isn't this seriously crazy dedication? I'm moved by it," "Thank you for treating the public relations ambassador so well," and "Goyang City's PR team really knows what they are doing."

May also shared her thoughts on the congratulations from her hometown of Goyang through a live broadcast.

May expressed her gratitude for the support sent from her hometown, saying, "I was truly moved after watching Goyang Special City's video," and adding, "I will work hard in the future so that I can become someone you can be proud of."

Regarding Mayor Lee Kyung-seon's congratulatory message, she also expressed her thanks, saying, "I even saw the Mayor of Goyang Special City saying 'Yaho.' Thank you."

Junior students from Jangchon Elementary School and Daehwa Middle School, May's alma maters, also participated in the video, sending congratulations and support by saying, "It is a source of pride and an honor to have such a senior," and "We hope you can visit our graduation ceremony this year."

An official from Goyang City stated, "This content was prepared because we wanted to celebrate and support May's birthday together in her hometown of Goyang City, and we are grateful that more people than expected showed interest," adding, "We will continue to create content that both fans and citizens can enjoy together."

Previously, Goyang City appointed RESCENE as public relations ambassadors on the 2nd of last month.
