Four passengers were injured and sent to the hospital after a city bus in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, slammed on its brakes to avoid another vehicle cutting in front of it.
According to the Bucheon Fire Station, a report was filed with 119 at around 7:09 p.m. yesterday (August 19) stating that passengers were injured due to a sudden stop by a city bus on a road in Wonjong-dong, Ojeong-gu, Bucheon.
Out of 27 passengers on board, four people—including a man in his 30s complaining of collarbone pain—were transported to the hospital by 119 rescue workers for treatment.
The remaining 23 passengers reportedly visited hospitals individually or returned home.
Fire authorities believe the accident occurred when the bus driver sharply stepped on the brake pedal to avoid an SUV that suddenly cut in front of the bus.
Fire officials stated that the bus and the SUV did not collide, and all of the injured individuals were classified as having minor injuries.
