Three sanitation workers aboard a garbage truck were killed early this morning (August 19) around 4:00 AM when their vehicle collided with a 25-ton dump truck at the Dodong Intersection in Yeongcheon, North Gyeongsang Province.

The driver of the dump truck, a man in his 70s, also sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.

Police stated, "It appears the accident occurred when both vehicles entered the intersection simultaneously, which was operating under flashing signals at the time," adding that they are investigating the exact cause of the accident.
