A male student at Seoul National University of Science and Technology (Seoultech), suspected of attempting illegal filming in a men's restroom on campus last June, has been referred to the prosecution.

The Seoul Nowon Police Station announced today (the 19th) that it forwarded the student, identified as A, to the prosecution on the 12th under charges of violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes.

Student A is accused of attempting to illegally film another male student inside a men's restroom in a building at Seoultech in Nowon-gu, Seoul, last June.

In a separate incident, another male student, B, was caught by police on May 28 for attempting illegal filming in a women's restroom at Seoultech.

Police referred student B to the prosecution without detention last month under the same charges of violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes.

However, as the prosecution requested supplementary investigation, the police are continuing further inquiries.

In response to these incidents, the Seoultech student union and the Nowon Police Station conducted a comprehensive inspection of campus restrooms and shower facilities in mid-June.
