▲ Person A, a former executive in his 60s at a small-to-medium enterprise who had an arrest warrant requested against him on charges of sexually assaulting a person with an intellectual disability, enters the Incheon District Court on the afternoon of the 12th for a pre-trial suspect interrogation (warrant review).
A man in his 60s accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a man or woman in their 20s with an intellectual disability working at a standard workplace for persons with disabilities has been handed over to the prosecution.
The Women and Youth Investigation Unit of the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency announced today (the 19th) that it recently referred Person A, who is in his 60s, to the prosecution in custody on charges of quasi-rape of a person with disabilities under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes.
Person A is accused of sexually assaulting a 20s employee with an intellectual disability multiple times last year at a standard workplace for persons with disabilities where he served as an executive, even resulting in the victim giving birth to a child.
Person A's crimes came to light through an exclusive SBS report last month, and the court issued an arrest warrant for Person A on the 12th, citing concerns that he may destroy evidence or flee.
Person A is reported to have continuously denied the charges throughout the investigation. However, the police concluded that the charges are substantiated based on statements from related parties and secured physical evidence, thereby turning Person A over to the prosecution.
