A man in his 30s has been booked for luring a freelance makeup artist to his home through the second-hand trading platform Daangn and raping her.

The Seoul Gwanak Police Station announced today (August 19) that it is investigating the man, in his 30s referred to as A, on charges including rape.

On August 2, A posted a listing on "Daangn Part-Time," Daangn's job-seeking system, stating, "Looking for someone to provide on-site makeup services for a profile photoshoot."

When B, who applied for the job after seeing the post, visited his home, A initiated unwanted physical contact.

According to the investigation, A proceeded to rape B after she expressed her refusal.

B managed to escape the house and reported the incident to the police, prompting an investigation.

Police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the incident involving A.

According to Daangn, the number of applications using Daangn Part-Time surpassed 50 million last year.

Amidst this, crimes exploiting "Daangn Part-Time" have been occurring successively, raising the need for caution.

There have also been cases where job applicants approached clients' homes to commit crimes.

In June, a man in his 30s was arrested by police in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, after deceiving his way into a woman's home under the pretense of doing a cleaning job and threatening her with a weapon.

Additionally, on August 5 in Nowon-gu, Seoul, a man in his 20s who was hired as a housekeeper was booked after being caught stealing valuables from a client's home.
