Musical actor Ivy has made her debut on the Broadway stage in the musical "Chicago," drawing warm attention as comedian Jo Hye-ryeon personally visited the venue to congratulate her.

On the 18th (local time), Ivy took the stage as Roxie Hart at the Ambassador Theatre in New York for Broadway's "Chicago." Following the performance, she was captured receiving congratulations during the curtain call, sharing high-fives with fellow cast members and being presented with a bouquet of flowers.

Comedian Jo Hye-ryeon visited the theater in person that day to celebrate Ivy's milestone. Jo shared on her social media, "Seeing her proudly standing on Broadway, Roxie Hart Ivy. I couldn't take my eyes off her throughout the entire first performance. I was so amazed by how pretty and naturally witty she was, and her English pronunciation was so lovely and exceptional that it made me want to study English myself. I hope she successfully completes her three-week run on Broadway."

The official "Chicago" social media account also celebrated Ivy's debut that day. Welcoming her with a post saying, "From Seoul to New York, welcome to the Broadway cell block," and adding, "We can still hear the cheers," they shared photos from the curtain call.

In response, Ivy left a comment in English, writing, "It is truly an honor to be part of Chicago's incredible history," and adding, "I hope this moment opens doors wide for many more Asian performers to come. Love you, Chicago. Thank you so much."

Singer G.NA also chimed in through the comments, cheering her on with, "Bravo unnie. You are truly an inspiration and a mega superstar."

Ivy will take the stage as the lead role of Roxie Hart at the Ambassador Theatre for a three-week run until September 6th.

This marks the first time a Korean actor has played the starring role of Roxie Hart in Broadway's "Chicago." Ivy has established herself as a definitive Roxie Hart, having performed the role 592 times in the Korean licensed production since 2012.
