Many drivers likely struggle every time they try to park and align their cars between the lines. It turns out that a district office in Seoul has introduced a unique type of parking line.
Yes, Dongjak-gu in Seoul has pilot-installed "vertical parking lines" at four public parking lots within its jurisdiction to enhance parking convenience and prevent safety accidents.
The vertical parking lines extend the vertical lines of conventional ground parking stalls all the way up to the rear walls.
According to officials, these lines make it much easier to check the parking position when backing into a space, allowing drivers to park more accurately and reduce collision accidents with nearby facilities.
These vertical parking lines were first introduced nationwide by Gongju, South Chungcheong Province, late last year, receiving a favorable response.
Following the pilot operation, Dongjak-gu plans to conduct a user satisfaction survey to verify their effectiveness in improving parking convenience and preventing collisions.
