Gyeonggi Hwaseong Seobu Police Station announced today (the 19th) that it has urgently arrested and is investigating a Thai national in his 30s, identified as A, on charges of attempted murder for allegedly stabbing and attempting to kill a Thai man and woman.

A is suspected of wielding a weapon against the man and woman in their 30s of the same nationality at a motel in Mado-myeon, Manse-gu, Hwaseong, at 2:00 AM today.

The two victims suffered serious injuries from the stab wounds and were transported to a hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.

Police received a report from the hospital at 2:40 AM, immediately launched an investigation, and apprehended A in Namyang-eup near the crime scene at approximately 5:45 AM, about three hours later.

Police suspect that A committed the crime out of jealousy regarding a relationship between the victims and are currently investigating the exact details of the incident.
