Car Crashes Into Truck on Expressway, Driver in Critical Condition

A passenger car traveling on an expressway crashed into a 14-ton truck, leaving the car's driver seriously injured.

At around 8:10 p.m. today, a passenger car struck a 14-ton truck moving ahead of it near the Yeongok drowsy driving shelter on the Gyeongbu Expressway toward Busan, located in Miyang-myeon, Anseong, Gyeonggi Province.

The accident left the driver of the car, a foreign national in his 20s, with severe injuries to his neck and other parts of his body, and he was transported to a hospital.

In addition, the impact caused the truck to overturn, leading to the closure of three lanes for over two hours and causing traffic congestion stretching about 3 kilometers.

Police believe the accident occurred while the passenger car was changing lanes and are investigating the exact circumstances.
