Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels claimed on the 18th (local time) that they attacked an oil facility belonging to Saudi Arabia's state-owned oil company, Aramco.
AFP news agency reported, citing the Houthi-run Saba news agency, that the Houthis stated, "In response to airspace violations over Sa'dah and Hajjah governorates in Yemen, we attacked the oil facility in southern Jizan using multiple drones."
The Houthis previously claimed on the 13th that they had struck the Aramco oil facility in Jizan with two drones for the same reason.
In mid-July, the Houthis blamed Saudi Arabia for an airstrike on Yemen's capital Sanaa, which is under their control, and declared the termination of a truce signed in 2022.
Following their declaration of a maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia in the Red Sea on July 20th, citing it as retaliation for Saudi Arabia's siege of Yemen, they have been stepping up offensives against Saudi vessels and facilities.
The previous day, they claimed to have attacked five Saudi warships, including one landing ship and four frigates, with ballistic missiles near Mocha port in Yemen.
The Saudi government and military have not made any specific comments regarding the Houthi attacks.
