Culture and arts programs designed to meet the cultural and artistic needs of older adults aged 65 to 74 are now underway.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Arts Education Service announced that they will run the program titled <Senior Arts Enrichment: Youth Is Right Now> nationwide through November to help individuals under 75 experiencing transitional periods such as retirement explore new relationships and possibilities through arts and culture while envisioning their future.

This initiative has been expanded nationwide this year following demand surveys and pilot education conducted last year.

Arts education in various fields—including theater, crafts, artificial intelligence (AI), and exhibition and performance appreciation—will be provided at 60 facilities across the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon, Chungcheong, Jeolla, and Gyeongsang regions.

The programs are scheduled to take place at various facilities nationwide, including senior welfare centers, lifelong learning centers, cultural foundations, libraries, cultural centers, and museums.

Key programs include <Time to Befriend My Body>, which awakens physical senses through bodily movement to build a healthy daily routine; <Youth Theater Again>, which reflects on past lives through acting; <Our Neighborhood Upcycling Workshop>, which engages with the local community through upcycling crafts; <Drawing Our Neighborhood with AI>, which creates stories of oneself and the neighborhood using artificial intelligence; <One Artwork, One Step into Humanities>, combining visiting arts humanities with artwork appreciation; and <Art Page Met Today>, which enjoys art by visiting cultural spaces such as art museums and museums.

Older adults aged 65 to 74 who wish to participate can apply through the operating facilities in their respective regions. Detailed information about the programs and application methods can be found on the official website and social networking services (SNS) of the Korea Arts Education Service.
