Incheon International Airport has installed safety fences at entrance pathways to prevent repeated group queue-jumping incidents at some of its departure halls.
According to Incheon International Airport Corporation on today (August 18), the corporation has finished installing safety fences and high-visibility sheets at the entrance pathway of Counter E in the departure hall on the third floor of Terminal 1.
Previously, early last month, dozens of individuals, including Chinese daigou (shoppers), were captured cutting in line at the same counter, ignoring the waiting queue.
A video showing them rushing past barriers by ducking down and pushing their luggage sparked significant controversy after being shared on social media.
As they rushed ahead to check in as soon as the counters opened, staff members guiding the area were overwhelmed by the crowd and sustained injuries, including abrasions.

Following the incident, the corporation took a strong stance by broadcasting digital warning notices stating that check-in would be denied if passenger safety was threatened, in addition to installing the fences.
An official from the corporation stated, "No further queue-jumping issues have occurred since the reinforcement of the facilities," adding, "We will continue our efforts to maintain order inside the airport by deploying safety personnel on a regular basis."
